Description

Sleek and seemingly slippery, Flume is a wiggly otter. Ve stands around five and a half feet, with another four foot of ruddertail trailing behind. Ver skin is smooth, not furred, and a little shiny, something like rubber or vinyl, but it doesn't wrinkle like those materials. The same on the head--no extra tufts or dreadlocks, just a smoothness uninterrupted except by the otter's tiny ears. Vis coloring is interesting: the backside and upper tail is a vibrant electric blue, shading towards less saturation towards the head. Contrasting this is the underside coloring along chest, inner arms and thighs, and under tail: electric purple down near the feet, shading into indigo and then a very dark blue near-black under the chin. Ve tends to present the sort of sleek hydrodynamic form without sexual differentiation, and androgynous curves.

To say the way Flume moves is fluid would be an understatement--ve slinks around as if ve has no spine, somewhat typical for an otter but possibly literal in vis case. Actually, at closer examination vis limbs don't always bend the right directions...

Okay, let's just get right to the point: Flume is, in fact, made of water. It's pretty obvious if you're around ver for more than five minutes, ve makes no secret of it, especially when you can occasionally see fish swimming inside ver. Ve is made of a gravitic self-loop within a hydroattractive field (otter shaped), consisting of whatever collection of water happens to be handy. Flume appears solid on land, and generally doesn't get other things wet just by contact--you could shake ver hand and it might feel warm and solid. Ripples sometimes appear when ve moves, though this seems to be intentional. The overall impression is that the otter format is utterly optional, a customized default rather than the only form ve can take.

Ve is never very far from water--the field does prevent evaporation, but ve likes to keep the water from getting stagnant. Flume also tends towards wearing waterproof clothing when necessary--ver favorite outfit is a sleek black-and-purple neoprene hoodie, with matching shorts. More often, though, Flume just wears nothing at all.
