The term "adult content" is an orwellian newspeak term.
If that term is taken literally, then it means any and all depictions of adults
in TV, movies, other video clips, or pictures, and it means any textual content
which adults woud have use for or have interest in.
Thus, most things are "adult content" in the literal sense of the term.

However, that is, of course, not what the term is intended to mean.
It is usually intended to mean "sexual content".
The term does not even mean "content that only adults are interested in",
becuz adolescents and pre-adolescents seek-out sexual material as well,
though they may have more difficulty in obtaining it.
Thus, it is a term which means something that is completely different
from its literal or semi-literal sense, for the purpose of propagating the willful
delusion that only adults are, or shoud be, interested in sexual material.
People who use that term in that insane manner (as is usually the case)
are not yet subject to corrective psychiatric treatment or eugenic sterilization.
