'''Names''' in the culture are formed from what language they come from. Tudbinel's actual name, Totwesh, came from Jemish and it meant 'sharp tooth'. Other names I've heard are Mireci in Tilglish, meaning mirror, and Lupha, meaning wolf-like. Some names are translated into English, others use nicknames or fake names and others keep the naming system from their family. One thing to keep in mind is that names that are translated into English will not always be "wolf" or "cat" but can very much be another english name like Michael for Mireci given that they share more than two letters.

Dimine

Dimines, sometimes known as dim-terran, are the people and intelligent inhabitants of Dim-terra, an alternative planet and reality oppositional to Earth.

A dimine is someone who is born or metaphysically connected to the planet and contributes to the culture.

Dimine culture

The culture of Dim-Terra varies based on what tribe you're in, what family you belong to and where you live and what you believe. So the overall culture is the majority rule of society there without the need for punishment if you don't comply. It is similar to how not all people on Earth have the same laws, codes, genders or religion but they all have core aspects for optimal understanding and relation.

Some core basics are families, roles, practice, celebrations and names.

. Families consist of monogamous/polyamorous parents and one or more children, called poults. A poult is welcomed into the family at the 3rd moonhigh(nighttime) after their birth. This child is damped with a cold wet rag and the head is painted with small sigils in terran families but are simply put to rest at the end of the welcoming ceremony in gaian families. Parents set their children off into the world to become a learner/student around the age of 5 and up until they are 17. Learners are kids and teens who attempt to learn the way of the grands/teachers in the tribe. They have three paths: They can progress in studies to become a grand/teacher, Learn the movement of the blade as a hunter/servicer or become a static/farmer/parent and feed the village with crops, supply water and have children.

. Roles for each civilization vary in name but are the same in function (or have subsets of roles.) Hunters/servicers are those who earn the food for the tribe. They often hunt, clean, cook or do patrol tasks for an area. There are subsets like guards, servants or builders. Grands/teachers are the guides of the area and always want to speak their own mind, they are skilled in many thoughts and practices. Subsets like scientists, magicists, healers and counselors are most prominent. Learners/students are the teens who are to be taught by grands and their teachers. Learners are often categorized by numerical stages up to 6, with each stage representing their level of expertise. Statics/parents fulfill purposes like farming, grooming of pets and animals, water supplies and emotional support for children of the civilization. Some statics even grow up to be the "grandparent" that most in the area go to and respect.

. Notions of friendship and such are very complex based on your personal life. Friendships are expected to have the result of platonic mates or pairs that protect each other. Friendship is often seen as a sacrifice of self and is very sacred to social status. Friendship is often shown through informal usage of words, gathering tasks and their priority for their friendship would sometimes trump their blood families. Beauty in this culture is not determined by physical appearance but is through value. If you are valuable to anyone, you are beautiful. Beauty is through social status and importance. Cleanliness is often dismissed in certain cultures who have skin that evolved to not need excessive showers. Nudity in the culture equals possible dirtiness so oftentimes they will allow nudity in the home but not the open as the nude body is a canvas for paint and ritual. Homes are most likely always clean and the dining areas are cleanest. Showering and such is important but for some inhabitants, cleaning themselves is hard with how much fur or thick skin. Saunas are frequently paired as bathing or cleaning areas.

. Practices like founding days, fasting periods and witchcraft exist throughout all cultures of Dim-Terra. The get-together for feast and devotion to yourself, someone else or a family member is important. Ceremonies like renaming or reranking are extremely important for societal acceptance and favor. Which is why deranking someone does not favor that deranked individual in any form. Deranking can cause extreme isolation and prejudice from family and friends.

. Celebrations are important to Dim-Terran culture as it is one of the ways entertainment is performed. Litheki/Luxestav is the celebration of the summer month on June 15th/Tahbl 5th. Hearts los Celloros is a holiday under Tilglish speakers where people celebrate the diversity of color, love, gender, change and culture. It is celebrated on February 3rd/Febrar 6th. Birthdays can come in many shapes and sizes. In terran culture, ‘risingdays’ are pre-birthdays. Risingdays are a way to reassign someone's gender in case they have changed and cleanse the person of dirt before their formal birthday. Risingdays are on the 8th moon and/or 1st morning of their birth month and then birthdays are celebrated on their day of birth formally with gifts, usually in bags or with small coins.

. Names in the culture are formed from what language they come from. Tudbinel's actual name, Totwesh, came from Jemish and it meant 'sharp tooth'. Other names I've heard are Mireci in [[Tilglis], meaning mirror, and Lupha, meaning wolf-like. Some names are translated into English, others use nicknames or fake names and others keep the naming system from their family. One thing to keep in mind is that names that are translated into English will not always be "wolf" or "cat" but can very much be another english name like Michael for Mireci given that they share more than two letters.
