Some commands you may find useful:
Interaction, Communicating, and Acting
- "<message>
- Say <message> to others in the room.
"Hello. produces Character says "Hello."
sayhelp will show you how to do more complicated things such as "Hello," says Character. "Who am I?"
- :<message>
- Pose <message>, like IRC's '/me'.
:waves hello. produces Character waves hello.
- w(hisper) <person>=<message>
- Send a private message to someone in the room.
You can whisper to several people at once: whisper alice bob carol=message
- p(age) <person>=<message>
- Send a private message to someone, regardless of location.
You can page several people at once, just like whispering.
- spoof <message>
- Causes <message> to be sent to everyone in the room, without saying who sent it.
spoof Suddenly, everyone is knee-deep in candy. produces Suddenly, everyone is knee-deep in candy.
Please be considerate when using spoof. Do not force actions on other people with it. Use it for scene-setting and background characters, not to tell other people's stories for them.
- ooc <message>
- For out-of-character commentary. ooc Hold on, phone! produces [OOC] Character says, "Hold on, phone!"
You can also do out-of-character poses: ooc :sighs. "Can we go back IC?" produces [OOC] Character sighs. "Can we go back IC?"
- ospoof <message>
- For when you need a spoof marked as out-of-character.
- op player=message
- Out-of-character page. (Just as a note, this doesn't work if you use custom page formats.)
- . (dotcom)
- Chat system.
Moving, Looking, and Fooling Around
- direction or destination
- Go in a <direction> or go <destination>-ward -- e.g., "door", "hole", "out"...
- l(ook)
- Look at the room you're in.
- l(ook) <thing>
- Look at <thing>. <thing> can be another player.
- l(ook) <player>'s <thing>
- Look at an object held by a player.
- get <thing>
- Pick up <thing>.
- drop <thing>
- Drop <thing>.
- nexus
- Instantly go to the Transit Nexus.
- home
- Instantly go home. Good for when you get lost. This server-level command sends all objects in your inventory to their homes as well.
- gohome
- Instantly go home. Preferable because your stuff doesn't run away.
Meta-Information and Maintenance
- wd (whodoing)
- See who's online.
- wa (whereare)
- See where people are.
- ws (whospecies)
- See who's in the room with you, and what they are.
- wi (whatis)
- See who's in the room with you, and what they admit to being into. Note that the flag-list for this program is an incomplete offering.
- cinfo <player>
- Produces information on a character's background, history, and desires.
- editplayer
- An interactive tool that helps you set up your description, gender, species, and a few other things. Still being cleaned up for Puzzlebox use.
- morph
- A tool for maintaining multiple descriptions and aspects.
qmorph allows you to change without sending a message to others in the room.
- functions
- See which of the Functions are online.
- guide
- Access the Puzzlebox guidebook.
- guest-pass
- Request a guest password, to share the Puzzlebox experience with others.
- @password <old>=<new>
- Change your password.
- QUIT
- Log out. Must be typed in all caps!

Most commands have built-in help - try adding #help to any command. cinfo #help, for instance, will tell you how to set up your cinfo.
